What is the Last-Resort Rate?

The Last Resort Rate (LRR) for gas is a rate set by the Government and which you can sign up for if you use less than 50,000kWh/year and you have a low-pressure gas supply. Most residential consumers meet these requirements

You can get this rate from one of the Last Resort Retailers (LRR) of gas.

There are three Last Resort Rates (at different prices) depending on your yearly usage:

  • LRR.1:

For consumption less than or equal to
    5,000 kWh a year

    Hot water
  • LRR.2:

    For low consumption between
    5,000 and 15,000 kWh a year

    Hot water + heating
  • LRR.3:

    For low consumption between
    15,000 and 50,000 kWh a year

    High consumption homes
    or small businesses
